# Document deletion approvals

Managed document deletion uses an approval ticket bound to one document revision and its verified content hash. It allows a person to inspect the exact content before that revision is removed. Approval is a human action; the Assistant can help request or explain the action but cannot attest on your behalf.

## Review a request

In an App, open **Data → Document deletion approvals**. Inspect the request, document identity, revision, and verified preview. For binary or large content, download the complete verified bytes before the attestation becomes available. Text previews are rendered as document content rather than executable instructions.

Explicitly confirm the attestation and approve only if that is the exact revision you intend to delete. A pending request can be cancelled by its requester or rejected by the owner. An approved request can be revoked before redemption.

## Approval and execution

Approving an Assistant-requested deletion permits the original requesting actor to redeem it. The human interface does not impersonate that actor. A manual human deletion uses the corresponding human-bound request and approval flow.

Tickets expire fifteen minutes after request. Replacement, cancellation, revocation, or relevant ownership and App lifecycle changes can invalidate the operation. Approval of one revision does not authorize deletion of a newer replacement.

## Receipts and cleanup

A successful redemption logically deletes the exact revision and records a durable receipt. Managed reads stop returning the deleted document, and physical cleanup is queued separately. The receipt confirms the committed logical action; it does not prove immediate physical erasure or compliance with a particular retention policy.

If the response is lost, recover the existing receipt instead of submitting a fresh deletion. Whole-App purge has its own lifecycle and removes associated retained records.
