# Storage browser

The Storage browser brings the files you can access through connected providers into one workspace. It supports Platform Store, S3-compatible storage, Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox. Each provider appears under its own collapsible header, with folder navigation, filename search, selection, and the actions allowed by that connection and App.

## Where to find it

Open a storage connection's workspace in Connections, or use Storage inside an App that includes it. Document-oriented Apps can place Storage in the sidebar above Documents. App owners can choose whether the browser shows all visible storage connections or a fixed set, and which operations are available. Credentials and authorization are still managed in Connections.

“Local” storage means the Strive-managed Platform Store. It does not expose arbitrary folders on the server or your computer. Use upload to bring a file from your computer into the chosen storage location.

## Choose the operation by its effect

Opening a file reads the provider item. Uploading places a file in the destination provider. Copying creates another item, while moving can also remove the verified source. Importing into App files creates a separate managed snapshot for the App's processing and evidence.

A provider file can change after you browse or select it. Transfer operations check source revisions where required and refuse unsafe cleanup instead of silently removing a changed source. Imports remain independent after completion: editing the provider file later does not rewrite the App copy.

Use [folder navigation and search](/docs/storage/navigation-and-search) to find items, [copy and move](/docs/storage/copy-and-move) for transfers, or [import into Apps](/docs/storage/import-into-apps) for document processing. Review [limits](/docs/storage/limits) before transferring a large selection. Jobs can complete partly, so inspect their outcome rather than assuming the selection is an all-or-nothing transaction.
