# Refresh tables and resolve conflicts

A refresh generates a new reviewed set of values for an explicit target table. It does not continuously synchronize the saved table with every source edit. Choose **Update table** when you intend to replace the table's values from selected current documents.

## Before generation

Confirm the target table, selected source documents, and field definitions. A refresh starts from the accepted schema or explicit definitions for the new preview. It should not infer a different target merely because another table has the same name.

The draft records the target's schema and data revisions. If someone edits the table while generation is running, acceptance checks those revisions and can refuse the stale result. Reload and compare the new state before starting another refresh.

## Source changes

The draft uses newly captured source bytes. Earlier values and evidence retain their original definitions until the replacement preview is ready. A changed provider file does not rewrite a previously imported App file; import the intended revision first if necessary.

A refresh can replace previous rows. Review the full effect before applying it, especially if manual edits were made to the saved table. Acceptance is an explicit replacement action, not a cell-by-cell merge of every historical value.

## Definition changes

Removing or reordering columns can be reviewed without relabeling values. Changing a meaning or type requires a fresh preview under the changed definition. Failed or cancelled replacement generation leaves the earlier review available.

## Uncertain outcomes

If generation admission or acceptance has an uncertain response, use recovery for the existing intent and draft. The review remembers the acknowledged draft identity so it can retrieve an already applied receipt. Starting another paid generation is not a reliable way to discover whether the first request succeeded.
