Save and verify
Controls update the presentation immediately and save the preference. Wait for any error or confirmation before relying on persistence. If saving fails, the server's saved value remains the source of truth; reload and retry after resolving the failure.
Dark Mode Style disappears when the resolved theme is light. A saved dark variant can remain your preference for the next time the theme is dark.
App-specific themes
An app can declare its own theme setting or author-defined design. Changing workspace appearance does not rewrite an app's definition or every template parameter. Topic News, for example, exposes a separate app theme parameter.
