Use the workflow canvas
Add, inspect, arrange, and connect jobs in the visual editor.
The canvas displays a workflow as a graph of jobs and connections. It helps you see where data enters, how it changes, and which steps consume each result.
Add and configure jobs
Select Add job to open the picker. Choose a source, processing handler, or destination, then complete the configuration panel. Select an existing card to inspect its job ID, dependencies, and configuration. The panel can be docked or floated to make room for the graph; changing its position does not affect the workflow.
Use descriptive job IDs and keep related branches near each other. A left-to-right arrangement is helpful, but execution follows dependencies rather than screen position.
Connect and revise the graph
Connect an upstream output to the downstream input that should receive it. Inspect the resulting dependencies, particularly when a step has several parents or named input ports. The editor prevents incompatible connections where it can identify the mismatch and can suggest a converter.
Deleting an edge removes its dependency and associated named-port binding. Deleting a job can leave downstream jobs needing a new input. Validate after structural changes.
Duplicate a selected job when you need similar settings in another branch, then give it a distinct ID and check its dependencies. Undo can return a mistaken editor change; it does not undo an external action from an earlier run.
Work with the keyboard
Tab and Shift+Tab move through focusable nodes and edges. Enter or Space selects a focused node and opens its configuration. Escape deselects it. Arrow keys move a selected node. Delete removes the selected node or edge. Press ? to open the shortcut reference.
Keyboard shortcuts yield to text editing where appropriate. If a key changes text instead of the graph, move focus back to the canvas.
Switch to Code when you want to inspect the precise definition, then return to Canvas to review the topology. See dependencies and ports, code view, and saving and keyboard shortcuts.
