Sessions, inactivity, and sign-out
Stay signed in, recover an expired session, and understand behaviour across tabs.
Strive maintains your authenticated session while you use the workspace. When it approaches expiry because of inactivity, a warning offers Stay signed in and Sign out.
Respond to the warning
Choose Stay signed in if you are continuing your work. Choose Sign out to end the session immediately. Closing or dismissing the warning is not the same as extending it: its countdown can continue until the session expires.
Keep important editor changes saved. An expired session can require authentication before further reads or writes. A browser tab showing old content is not proof that its session is still valid.
Several tabs
Session activity and sign-out are coordinated across tabs. A background tab does not create meaningful activity merely by remaining open. After signing out in one tab, expect the other workspace tabs to require sign-in again.
If one tab displays a stale error, refresh or revisit the destination after authenticating. Do not submit the same uncertain change from several tabs at once.
Sign out deliberately
Use the sidebar account menu or Profile's Sign out control. Where a confirmation appears, choose Sign out to proceed or Stay signed in to cancel. On a shared computer, finish signing out before leaving.
Signing out does not undo a committed change or necessarily cancel a workflow, deployment, or storage transfer already submitted. Those operations have their own statuses. After signing in again, inspect the saved operation before repeating it.
Recover your destination
A protected deep link is preserved through reauthentication. If the resource was deleted or access changed while you were away, use navigation to return to an available area and ask the owner about the item.
